Crafting a Brick-and-Mortar Flagship Bakery

Wildgrain, a nationally recognized artisan bakery known for shipping handcrafted bread, pastries, and pasta, partnered with Walker to create it’s first-ever flagship retail location—transforming a digital-first presence into an immersive, in-person experience.

The flagship was envisioned as both a neighborhood café and a physical extension of Wildgrain’s growing national brand. Walker delivered a comprehensive interior build-out within a compact 1,179-square-foot footprint. Scope included new above- and below-ground plumbing infrastructure, installation of owner-supplied light fixtures, and coordination of electrical and plumbing requirements for owner-supplied appliances. Walker managed integration of all supporting systems to ensure seamless functionality, while custom millwork and fresh paint throughout the sales area created a warm environment reflecting Wildgrain’s handcrafted identity.

Delivering a fully functional bakery and café in a limited footprint required tight coordination across multiple vendors, specialty equipment requirements, and close collaboration. The new space balances efficiency, functionality, and brand expression, providing an inviting destination for customers to experience Wildgrain beyond the box.
