A Fast Paced Value Engineering and Design Build in Boston

Issues Management Group

Project Details:

  • Boston, MA

  • AHP Architects

  • 7,500 square feet

This project required a high level of trust and communication. The scope of work consisted of fully renovating the 6th floor, starting with safety and demo of the two existing office suites, new construction of private offices, huddle rooms, a conference room, collaboration rooms and an open office for workstations.

We also provided a fully furnished break room and kitchen, upgraded the common area and bathrooms, and made upgrades to the fire protection systems and MEP’s to meet Boston high rise construction building codes and requirements. Glass office fronts allow more natural light into the space with new window shades to turn down the shine if desired, paired with an LED lighting package featuring occupancy sensored lighting controls and custom pendant lighting in the collaboration and conference areas. The greatest challenge was the logistics of the location in the heart of Downtown Crossing, a heavily populated pedestrian area that abuts residential units and retail shops. We were able to seamlessly deliver with organized labor and flawless coordination, turning IMG's vision into reality.

What impressed me the most about Walker Development & Construction Management was their first-class transparency, specialized knowledge, viable solutions to any challenges and exceptional leadership qualities.”
