Walker Development Named a 2026 Best Place to Work by the Boston Business Journal

We have some exciting news to share. Walker Development & Construction Management has been named to the Boston Business Journal's 2026 Best Places to Work list for the second year in a row. But this year comes with an extra milestone: Walker has moved up in company size category, a reflection of the growth we've experienced as a team and an organization.

Being recognized once feels great. Being recognized again, at a higher level, feels like confirmation that what we're building here is real, sustainable, and worth celebrating.

What This Recognition Means

The BBJ's Best Places to Work program isn't a nomination or an application, it's earned directly through the voices of employees. Companies participated in engagement surveys administered by Quantum Workplace, where team members were asked to rate their experience across a range of categories: work environment, work-life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, management, compensation, and benefits.

In other words, this recognition came from our people. And that's what makes it meaningful.

A Competitive Field

This year's list includes 90 companies across Massachusetts, spanning industries from technology and health care to retail, commercial real estate, and beyond. Being named among that group is something we don't take lightly. Companies that, as BBJ Market President and Publisher Carolyn Jones put it, "continue to outshine their peers and competitors" in a challenging hiring environment.

A Reflection of Our Culture

At Walker, we've always believed that how you treat your people is just as important as the work you produce. Programs like our Walker Well-Being 90-Day Challenge, our commitment to open communication, and our focus on growth and opportunity for every team member aren't perks, they're part of who we are.

This award is a reflection of that commitment. It belongs to every person on the Walker team who shows up, contributes, and helps build a workplace worth coming to every day.

To our team: thank you. You are the reason Walker is the company it is, and you are the reason we received this recognition.

We're proud of what we've built together and we're just getting started.
