Senior Estimator

As a Senior Estimator, you will be integral to our project planning and execution process. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing the project's plans and specifications and identifying factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor.

  • Reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements and preparing itemized lists for commercial projects.

  • Conducting a 'take off' which involves quantifying and pricing the amount of materials and labor necessary for a construction project.

  • Collaborating with contractors, architects, and engineers to gather detailed information about a project.

  • Analyzing company data, monitor budgets, and price supplies to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best prices and quality for materials and labor.

  • Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for project management, data analysis, and communication.

  • Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs, updating information as necessary to provide accurate and timely data for decision-making.


To qualify, you must have:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.

  • A proven track record of successfully estimating and managing commercial construction projects.

  • Proficiency in 'take off' procedures and software for construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and project management.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications and translate them into accurate cost estimates.

  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
