Building Through Complexity, Without Disrupting the Member Experience

Walker Development transformed one of the club’s most visible outdoor gathering spaces with a custom pergola. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the club’s architecture, the new structure features custom railings, built-in illuminated light boxes, ceiling fans, a retractable awning, and strategically placed power receptacles to support a variety of member events and activities. The space is now a functional, architecturally cohesive amenity that enhances both the usability and appeal of the club’s outdoor spaces.

The pergola was installed over an existing structure supported by a 20-inch structural concrete slab containing an embedded waterproofing membrane. Walker carefully coordinated the removal of concrete for four new footings, installed engineered through-bolt connections to the underside of the deck, and worked closely with waterproofing specialists to flash and seal all penetrations, ensuring a watertight installation with no compromise to the existing structure.

Adding to the complexity, construction took place directly beside the club’s active first tee box. Walker minimized disruption to golfers and maintaining the member experience throughout construction.
