Space that Promotes Collaboration, Innovation, and Growth

Walker Development was thrilled to renovate 30,000 square feet of a former EMC building into modern office and laboratory space for Spring Bank Pharmaceuticals.

Through close collaboration with the architect, engineers, and owners, multiple laboratories—including chemistry, biology, analytics, and instrumentation—were designed and constructed with the latest life science technologies. An added challenge: The tight time frame required us to be directly involved in handling and installing special equipment, including an acid wash system, fume hood space for sample prep, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).

In addition to the complete renovation of the HVAC systems and interior space, we created several new window openings to provide maximum natural light throughout the space.

It was a true pleasure working with the entire team, which—in addition to Spring Bank Pharmaceuticals—included Parsons Commercial Group, Maugel Architects, Forward Partners, and Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates.
